Leadership & Capacity
Curriculum & Subject Expertise
People who have done the job, not people who have read about it.
Every consultant on our team has led in schools.
School improvement advice is only worth having if it comes from someone who has stood where you're standing. Our team is made up of experienced Head Teachers, subject leaders and specialists who have run departments, managed budgets, handled inspections and made the difficult decisions themselves.
That means the recommendations you get are ones that can actually be delivered — with the staff you have, in the time you have, against the pressures you're already under.
Interim Leadership
Cover for the gap, from someone who can lead from day one.
When a Head, Deputy or senior leader leaves unexpectedly, the vacancy is rarely the real problem — the drift while it's unfilled is. We can place an experienced leader into your school at short notice to hold the line, keep improvement work moving and hand over cleanly to your permanent appointment.
Best for: Sudden departures, long-term absence, or a substantive post you want to fill properly rather than quickly.
Leadership Support & Consultancy
A sounding board with no stake in the politics.
Sometimes what a leadership team needs isn't more capacity but an outside view — someone who can look at the plan, ask the questions nobody internally wants to ask, and say plainly what they see. We work alongside your leaders on strategy, improvement planning and the decisions that are easier to make with a critical friend in the room.
Best for: Schools at a turning point, new leadership teams, or a Head who needs somewhere to think out loud.
Leadership Support for SLT
Building the team around the Head.
A senior team is more than the sum of its job descriptions. We work with SLTs on how they operate together — clarity of roles, quality of line management, the rhythm of meetings and monitoring, and whether the team's time is going to the things that actually move the school forward.
Best for: Newly formed senior teams, restructures, or an SLT that's busy but not aligned.
Leadership Support & Coaching for Middle Leaders
The layer where improvement is won or lost.
Middle leaders are often promoted for being excellent teachers and then expected to lead adults with little preparation. Our coaching gives Heads of Department and phase leaders practical support in holding colleagues to account, using data, planning curriculum and managing the parts of the role nobody trained them for.
Best for: New or acting middle leaders, departments where standards vary teacher to teacher, and succession planning.
Project Management
Someone whose only job is to make it happen.
Major projects — a restructure, a new timetable model, a curriculum overhaul, a merger into a trust — tend to be handed to leaders who already have full-time roles. We can provide a dedicated project lead to own the plan, hold the timeline and keep the work moving when term inevitably gets in the way.
Best for: Any change programme too big to run in the gaps between lessons.
Subject Consultancy
Specialist support, subject by subject.
Our subject consultants are experienced practitioners in their own disciplines. They can review your curriculum sequence, moderate standards, model teaching, support non-specialists and work directly with a department on the changes that will shift outcomes.
Best for: Underperforming departments, subjects taught by non-specialists, or a strong department wanting to get stronger.
Curriculum Support & Reviews
Does your curriculum do what you say it does?
We review curriculum intent, implementation and impact across a subject, a phase or the whole school — looking at sequencing, coverage, ambition and whether what's written in the plan is what's actually happening in classrooms. You receive a clear written report with prioritised recommendations.
Best for: Pre-inspection preparation, curriculum redesign, or checking that a recent change has bedded in.
Designing & Implementing the Curriculum for Place & Aspiration
A curriculum that belongs to your community.
A curriculum should reflect where your learners are from and raise their sights about where they could go. Do you have a comprehensive understanding of the employment opportunities in your area — and does your qualification offer match employer need, learner interest and aspiration?
The demographic of your school matters. Disenfranchisement at KS3 builds underperformance at KS4, and NEET figures once learners leave.
We support schools in building curriculum content rooted in the local context — its history, its industries, its communities. A curriculum that builds engagement at KS3, widens horizons and cultural capital, and leads to success at KS4: young people equipped to be economically and socially engaged.
Best for: Schools serving communities where aspiration and outcomes don't yet match potential.
Whole-School Teaching & Learning Review
An honest picture of what's happening in your classrooms.
A team of experienced leaders spends time in your school — visiting lessons, looking at work, talking to staff and learners — and reports back on the quality and consistency of teaching. Not a mock inspection with a grade attached, but a diagnostic that tells you where your strengths are and what to work on next.
Best for: Schools wanting a baseline, checking consistency across a large staff, or testing whether a T&L strategy is landing.
Department Reviews
A closer look at a single team.
Where whole-school data points to one department, a focused review gets under the surface — curriculum, assessment, teaching quality, leadership and culture within the team — and separates the issues that are the department's from the ones that are the school's.
Best for: A department whose outcomes have slipped, a new Head of Department taking over, or a team where you can't quite name the problem.
Inclusion Support & Review
Provision that works for the learners who need it most.
We review how well your school identifies, supports and includes learners with additional needs — the quality of provision, the deployment of support staff, the systems behind SEND, and the experience of those learners day to day. Recommendations are practical and costed against the resource you actually have.
Best for: Rising SEND numbers, concerns about the quality of provision, or a new SENDCo inheriting an unfamiliar system.
Attendance Support & Reviews
Beyond the weekly percentage.
Attendance has become one of the hardest problems in schools, and headline figures hide more than they show. Our specialists interrogate the data — persistent absence, cohort and group patterns, the learners driving the numbers — and review the systems, staffing and family engagement behind them, so intervention goes where it will count.
Best for: Schools with stubborn persistent absence, or leaders who have run out of new things to try.
